'the little O, the earth' (Shakespeare)
'watch your P's & Q's' (Trad.)
Then, I look down into the bowl & notice a fly wearing an 'O' like a lifebelt, floating between two 'S's'. I think it has arranged the letters into some kind of message.
Later, it occurs to me: if I ate enough of this delicious ALPHABET SOUP, the complete works of Shakespeare might conceivably compose themselves in my stomach (or maybe just a sonnet - after all, even my voluminous gut can't distend itself that much!) Food of L-O-V-E indeed.
Further mental mastication on the subject of ALPHABET SOUP causes me to consider that I too am submerged in a sort of ethereal variety of it. Words, words, words, all around me. Two 'B's' buzz in my bonnet. And I'm always asking 'Y'.
Tired of all this speculation, I close my 'i's' & fall asleep ZZZ.
