remember remember the 5th of November
   Gunpowder treason & plot they say
    no not much of a a bonfire
    damp squib
    in rain really
    maybe a massive
    sparkler or two
    to keep us amused
    now I fear famed Guy Fawkes was framed
    poor Guy
    it's not the same
    when you're grown-up
    with gunpowder
    plot as we might
    doesn't go quite right
    just a drain on our resources in the end
    we burn effigy for fun
    used to make one
    beg for penny
    worth more in today's currency
    we were usually careful
     kept our powder dry
