Grimaldi's Game of Leapfrog...

Joseph Grimaldi (the original Joey the Clown!) in Harlequin & Padmanaba, or the Golden Fish, a pantomime produced at Covent Garden at Christmas 1811. The frog, played by an actor in a frogskin, later appeared in an opera hat & other then-fashionable accessories.
